The most popular festival in Calgary is the one and only Calgary Stampede. It is a place where rodeo- meets-carnival-meets-unusual deep fried foods. It is a 10-day long festival that runs in July every year attracts thousands of people to the city. It is here where you can indulge in a deep friend chocolate bar, a mini donut covered in grasshoppers, a scorpion covered pizza, or a pickle hot dog that of course, has been deep friend. This festival brings the best competitors in barrel racing, chuck wagon racing, bareback riding and more. There are games for both kids and adults, rides galore, and enough animals to keep you wandering through the barns all day long, along with a slew of concerts and entertainment. A grand stand show caps off the day every single evening, complete with acrobats, motorcycle stuntman, singing, dancing, and fireworks all over the city. Cowboy boots and cowboy hats are recommended, and there are plenty of places to shop on-site.
