One of the best pizzerias in Cagliari, located in Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Framento takes its name from the word “framentu”, which in Sardinian refers to natural yeast. Indeed, the pizza dough at Framento is strictly prepared using natural slow raising yeast. Brick and wood oven baked pizzas are prepared using strictly local and seasonal ingredients – so for example no basil is available in the winter months, as this won’t grow naturally. There is a selection of 5 pizzas always on the menu, and 5 more on the weekly specials. Desserts are to die for. There is a good selection of local beers. Lactose free mozzarella is available. Service is commendable, with staff always welcoming guests. The place is rather small and fills up quickly, and reservations are appreciated. Although the prices seem higher than average for a pizza, there is no service charge so the overall expense is actually the same of other pizzerias of lesser quality.
