The world's only floating flower market, Bloemenmarkt was set up in 1862. These flower shops are organised in house boats, and you can go clicking photos or shopping for a range of tulips, narcissus, bulbs, plants, seeds and great stuff for your garden; most of the shopkeepers also accept export orders (in case you wish to give a facelift to the garden back home). Come December and you can go shopping for Christmas trees as well. This market is located near Amsterdam's southern canals, between Koningsplein and Muntplein squares. It is open from 8:30 AM to 7 PM from Monday to Friday, extending till 7:30 PM on the weekends.
