Hailed for having Calgary’s best margarita, Añejo is a well-known Mexican restaurant in the city. This fairly new restaurant is located on 4th Street S.W and transforms into a bar once the sun goes down. Due to its popularity many people come early and snag a table and stay for the night. Tequila is the most popular drink here and the bar is known to go through more than 150 bottles in one week! Popular are the tequila flights, where visitors can taste their way through many different variations of tequila, including Blanco, Reposado and Anejo. Some of the more unusual margaritas include the strawberry rhubarb and chili coconut. If you aren’t a tequila fan, don’t despair as there is plenty more to drink here including gin, vodka, whiskey, beer and wine. The décor inside is colorful and unique, complete with decorated skulls and plenty of lighting. Come during the day of the dead party for an even bigger and better experience!
