Kiran calls Mumbai home, but is never far from her next trip. Her job involves zipping across the globe, but she insists it is hard work. She has checked into ashrams, lived with strangers in Europe, and tried her hand at extreme sports in Australia, etc., all in an effort to bring you back a story. In addition to the Times Group, she has contributed to National Geographic Traveller (India), Hindustan Times, Spenta Multimedia, The Hindu etc., where she recounts her globe-trotting adventures.
Wonder why it’s called, ‘Nectar of the Gods’? The answers lie in these halls. Learn about the wine-making process, the reasons for its popularity, Cleopatra’s love of the drink, or check out a bottle of porto dating back to the 1800’s. The museum traces the history of wine across continents and eras and even mentions the vine-growing regions of India.
If you want to tell your Savignon blanc from your chardonnay, or your single varieties from your blends, or you simply want to sip some reds and whites; the museum offers tastings for a small fee. So drink up.
Now even though drinking and driving don’t go hand-in-hand, ironically the wine museum lies right next to the Grand Prix Museum. Walk in to check out the cars that made it to the Guia Circuit, or try your hand at a simulated machine. Thankfully, you can get behind the wheel of this (simulated) machine even after you chug back a few.
