When it comes to parks, Chicago does a pretty good job. It can’t boast of the likes of New York’s Central Park or Philadelphia’s Wissahickon, but chances are that if you’re living in Chicago you’re in walking distance of a pretty great park. The downtown area is no exception: Millennium is a well-known favorite, but the Maggie Daley Park is the best park for kids (or adults who just really like slides.)
This playground, which is opened till 11 pm, features a giant ship, a whale-filled water fountain, a mini-boardwalk, an upside-down tree forest, a suspension bridge, and a giant slide. Chances are, your kids will have a blast. And if not, head over to Millennium, which features a great fountain (that looks like giant faces that are squirting water) a large bean, a stretched head, and many other artistic experiments.
