Probably one of the most beautiful alpine villages in Bernese Oberland, Wengen is interestingly the starting point for the wonderful train ride to Jungfraujoch, the top of Europe. From engaging in winter sports to hiking up to the tops of mountains, there is a lot to do in Wengen. And then of course, the peaks are so intensely close and so seemingly palpable that you could reach out and almost touch them. There are several domestic and international train connections to Interlaken Ost from where you get on the Bernese Oberland Railway (BOB) to Lauterbrunnen. In Lauterbrunnen, you have to change on same platform to the Wengernalp Railway that brings you to Wengen. The entire journey lasts 45 minutes. Refer to the Swiss Federal Railways website for timetables and tickets.
