Madhya Pradesh could be the wildlife state of India and for all the right reasons. It is home to 11 national parks and 30.72% of its geographical area consists of forests (as per the 2011 census). On your visit here, you’ll be mesmerised by the greenery throughout the drive from Katni to Bandhavgarh, Bandhavgarh to Kanha and later, Kanha to Nagpur. The reduction in green cover while heading towards Maharashtra is quite dramatic. There are several luxury wildlife lodges in the state that contribute to the 12.30 percent of the forest area of India. The experience of sleeping amidst the sounds of the forest, waking up even before the birds began singing and relaxing in the room in the quiet afternoon while the trees, bees and bushes whispered secretly is amazing. If you seek the comforts of civilisation even while you lie in the lap of wilderness, then these lodges will leave you feeling blissful.
