Complete with water bodies, trees and meadows, Central Park is home to several birds, including tree birds and water birds. One can spot common moorhen, whistling duck, pigeon, black drongo, cormorant, egret and many other birds here. There is a beautiful rose garden near gate number one. When in bloom, this small rose garden makes for a pleasant sight. The park also has a butterfly garden, where visitors can catch a glimpse of plain tiger, blue tiger, common jay and various other types of butterflies. This initiative is supported by the West Bengal Forest Department.
The lake in the park is connected to a small island via a bridge that has a pagoda. Do try to visit this attraction. Though there is not much to do in the park, apart from relaxing or taking a walk, you can click some pictures if you are into photography. At sundown, when the sun’s rays reflect on the lake, it makes for an excellent subject for photography. Visitors can easily reach Central Park from the nearby Karunamoyee bus stand.
