Taman Nusa exhibits a comprehensive physical history of Indonesia's many tribal groups in an attractive setting in the hills of Bali near Gianyar. Within the 15 hectare grounds, visitors are taken through the development of the islands, starting with Prehistoric Era, Bronze Age, Kingdom Age. It then continues to early Indonesia, Indonesian independence, present day Indonesia and future Indonesia. Besides a living Museum with Wayang, Batik, weaving and embroidery and a library, there is a miniature stone replica of Borrobudur Temple, handmade in Java and transported on 80 trucks to the site.

The same applies to many of the dwellings, purchased from island folk and re-erected on the site. Many are 100 of years old. The view of the indigenous forest in the gorge and up the other side is an added bonus.
