The port of Essaouira makes for the perfect day trip from Marrakech. It’s easy to spend hours at the old Medina or bustling fish market, absorbing the sights, sounds, and smells of Essaouira. The feel of this port city is very different from that of Marrakech. It has a French feel about it but its markets and houses are undeniably Moroccan.
