Shopping can be a wonderfully atmospheric experience in Kuala Lumpur’s markets—most of which date back to way before the city took on its urban avatar. In the tradition of Southeast Asian cities you will find an abundance of night markets which have a mix of hawkers, street stalls and lots of local food. Chinatown’s market, as is the case with other cities in Malaysia, is awash with inexpensive bric-a-brac and curios to take home. But the place to be, if you’re looking for a fun evening with food, drink and bit of shopping thrown in, is the Bangsar night market.
