Birding around Murchison Falls and Budongo

THINGS TO DO, UGANDA Updated : Sep 3, 2014, 06.18 PM IST

The atmospheric and famous names along say a lot—Murchison Falls National Park, Budongo Forest and the Royal Mile, Queen Elizabeth National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, all great destinations for a good reason. Murchison has the spectacular falls where the Victoria Nile plunges through a chasm that you could almost jump across. Watch hippos and crocodiles, herds of elephant, giraffe and buffalo and the strange and bizarre shoebill dwelling in the papyrus swamps, plus a great variety of birds, including rock pratincole, Denham's bustard, Abyssinian ground hornbill, blue-breasted kingfisher and swallow-tailed bee-eater.
