It is situated amidst the sea and stands like a guardian to some well kept secrets of the past. Kolaba Fort also has its history with the great Shivaji Maharaj. The famed Maratha warrior used this fort as a chief naval station back in his heydays. This fort is easily accessible from the Alibaug Beach. Surrounded by the salt water of the Arabian Sea, Kolaba Fort has a mystery fresh water well inside it! The fort has temples dedicated to Lord Ganesha and Goddess Padmavati.
