Word to the wise: There's a daily happy hour until 9pm and women file in to Y-Bar every Wednesday for unlimited free cosmos.

Still under construction, Yas Island lacks nightspots. Y-Bar is one of the few in the area to cater to a crowd that want to hold a conversation while imbibing. The layout is cavernous but the decor is warm, thanks to the swathe of red brick. There is outdoor seating as well, although bear in mind that the island’s views are still under development. Food leans towards pub grub with pretensions; there’s an AED 20 scotch egg, and a porcini-topped wagyu burger that keeps local critics happy.
