The three-day India-Afghan Cultural Festival has begun in the capital. The festival aims at enhancing the cultural relations between India and Afghan. The function was inaugurated by Mohammad Rasool Bawari (Afghan minister of information and culture) and Mahesh Sharma (Indian minister of state for culture). This cultural fest is being organised in joint collaboration of the Government and Embassy of Afghanistan and the Government of India and ICCR.Providing more information, Mr. Sharma said that the two nations already have age-old linkage in terms of culture and civilisations along with deep-seated connections in various artistic fields such as music, art, architecture, language and cuisine. He also said that this cultural fest is a unique event that will help bring out more common interests between the nations.
Addressing the media, Mr. Bawari said, “The two countries are bounded in cultural and historical relations, therefore, we want to celebrate these common values together.”

The festival will have myriad cultural performances, handicraft items, exhibitions and food, and will be attended by myriad of writers and poets from both the nations.
