A manageable and modern museum
Noteworthy for: The Taipei Biennial is always an interesting showcase of the country's best artists.
As Taiwan's first custom built contemporary art museum, the building certainly looks the part: it's an impressive modern structure of marble, glass and concrete, housing changing exhibits from their 4,000-strong permanent collection.
Despite having six floors, the museum is very manageable in size, reasonably priced and home to a good cafe and shop. The Zhongshan Fine Arts Park surrounding the museum is a popular hang-out on weekends, and has further rotating outdoor exhibits and events.
