This six storey market enjoys an almost mystical reputation due its mountains of pirated products and hordes of tourists that pilgrim here to purchase them.
The purveyors shout and drag people into their stores to sell their faux Peak Performance jackets. You can find well-made knock-off Converse shoes and Chloé bags here. The ground floor has a large selection of shoes and bags, and upstairs you can find clothes, souvenirs, electronics and tailors.
Silk Market has naturally clashed with many copyright laws and regulations, forcing it to move and periodically shut down, but it now seems that the future's bright for this pirate paradise since it is quite common to come by uniformed policemen buying pirated items here. There is an entrance to the market from the underground station Yonganli (line 1). Bargain recklessly.
