A peaceful place to take the pulse of the city - and watch blues fans cry
A statue of late blues guitarist Steve Ray Vaughan is one of the must-see attractions along this picturesque and popular walking trail. Fresh flowers are usually resting in the statue's hands, left there by often-weeping fans. The statue can be found on Lady Bird Lake's south shore, near the South 1st bridge.
About a half mile further west, there's a wide pedestrian bridge near Lamar Boulevard with benches, where people read, play guitar, or simply enjoy the view of the skyline and the lake. Beyond Lamar, the trail winds through wide-open fields and areas shaded by tall trees and dense foliage.
