Attracting music lovers from dreadlocked hippies to young jazz fans, La Bomba de Tiempo is something of a phenomenon. They are a 15-piece percussion band, who largely improvise based around a code of hand signals and gestures lead by a conductor; a fascinating process to watch besides creating sensational music.

You can feel the vibrations of the drums before you even walk under the neon lit sign of the Konex Center. Every Monday night - rain or shine - the open air courtyard becomes a mass of dancing bodies, or some just stood in awe. There is always a guest performer, and the Ciudad Cultural Konex hosts a range of other theatre and musical performances the rest of the week as well.
