Just north of Beijing lies an immensely popular attraction that literally translates into "The Fragrant Mountain's Park". As the Chinese name implies, Fragrant Hills Park consists mainly of forest and hills.
Widely known for their beauty, the Fragrant Hills are especially stunning during fall when the trees' golden and red leaves harmonise with the traditional pagodas and quiet lakes, creating an incredible scene bursting with colour. If you want to reach the hilltop, be prepared for an hour of steep climbing. There is an aerial cableway for those who prefer a more comfortable ascent. On clear days, the hilltop offers a magnificent view over Beijing.
