If you're lunching in Nice during the summer, there's no more glamorous address than the art-deco Castel Plage. On a warm day, the glitterati descend upon this tiny beach at the end of the Promenade des Anglais to eat, drink and pose, though not necessarily in that order.
A sun lounger will set you back a few extra Euro, but provides a welcome retreat to digest decadent dishes such as torched foie gras with fig compote, citrus and ginger marinated salmon and beef carpaccio with grilled vegetables. Be warned, drinks are expensive and you could find the bill adding up before you can say, "un autre verre de rosé, sil vous plait".
