The state government of Ranchi is planning to have a cruise that will visit tourist spots along the Ganges River, but the cruise's entry and exit from the state is being delayed because of the schedule. The cruise will enter Jharkhand through Bateshwarthan in Bhagalpur, and reach the Samda Ghat 54 kilometers away. There will be heavy security arrangements at the ghat, and the district administration will also provide high mast lights and other paraphernalia.

The flagship ganga vilas cruise, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi last week, got stuck on the third day of its 51-day journey in Bihar's Chhapra due to shallow water in the Ganga, officials said on Monday.The cruise which was scheduled to dock at the shore for the tourists to visit Chirand, an archaeological site, got stuck because of water deficiency in the Ganges near the Doriganj area of the district.

MV Ganga Vilas will begin its journey from Varanasi, PM Modi's constituency, and sail around 3,200 km in 51 days to reach Dibrugarh in Assam via Bangladesh, traversing across 27 river systems in the two countries, a statement from PMO said. PM Modi said the 51-day river cruise is a unique opportunity to connect with the country's cultural roots and discover beautiful aspects of its diversity.

The 32 Swiss tourists who will be on the ganga vilas cruise from Varanasi to Dibrugarh were welcomed at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport on Tuesday. The deputy director of Up Tourism, Preeti Srivastava, said that the cruise will be virtually flagged off by the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on January 13th. The founder and CEO of Antara Luxury River Cruises, Raj Singh, said that the ganga vilas cruise is 62 meters in length, 12 meters in width, and has a draft of 14 meters. It has three decks, 18 suites, and a capacity of 36 tourists. The cruise will visit 50 tourist spots, including world heritage sites, national parks, river ghats, and major cities like Patna, in Bihar, Sahibganj, in Jharkhand, Kolkata, in West Bengal, Dhaka, in Bangladesh, and Guwahati, in Assam. The cruise will cover a distance of more than 3200 kilometers across 27 river systems in five states of India and Bangladesh.

The triple-deck 'MV Ganga Vilas', the world's longest river cruise, arrived at Patna on Monday evening and will continue its onward journey, authorities said.

Before leaving the city on the cruise, a tourist hettich termed her three-day stay in Kashi as memorable for lifetime. "I had a long time wish to see Buddha Stupa, Dhamek Stupa at Sarnath which was fulfilled in this visit," she said. Another Swiss tourist on board Peter said, "I had come to Varanasi for the first time 14 years ago when I reached this time I found the city especially infrastructure

The cruise ship "dumka" left the Samda River bank in Sahibganj for its next destination, Dibrugarh, on Saturday afternoon. There are 27 Germans and five Swiss on board the ship. The ship arrived at Sahibganj on Friday evening, two days ahead of its scheduled stop. The foreign guests were taken to the newly constructed multimodel terminal and the adjacent Samda village where they interacted with the residents. Later, the foreign tourists witnessed tribal folk dances organized by the district administration at the river bank before proceeding towards Dibrugarh in Assam which is the last destination of the cruise ship. After sailing for nearly 51 days, India is certainly a diverse country where one can witness a sharp distinction of culture and lifestyle even at close distances.

The triple-deck MV Ganga Vilas - on the world's longest river cruise - entered Bengal on Sunday evening and anchored near Farakka lock gate overnight before reaching Murshidabad on Monday for a night halt near New Palace. It anchored on the east bank of the Bhagirathi.

The world's longest river cruise visited Patna, Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji, Patna Sahib Gurudwara Golghar, and the Bihar Museum on Tuesday. The tourists were delighted by the culture and hospitality of Bihar, and the residents greeted them with garlands and tilak (mark of respect) as they entered the city. Patna Mayor Sita Sahu Patliputra MP Ram Kripal Yadav and President of the Takhat Sri Harimandir Ji Patna Sahib Management Committee Jagjot Singh Sohi greeted the guests on the Gurudwara premises. The tourists were also given books on the history of Patna Sahib. "India is a stunningly beautiful and serene country," a Swiss traveller said. "With this initiative of the Prime Minister, the tourists will have an opportunity to know about the culture heritage and beauty of the city which will have a very positive impact on the tourism development in the state." Ram Kripal said.

The world's longest luxury cruise ship, the Ganga Vilas, is set to begin its maiden voyage from Varanasi on January 13th. The cruise will travel through the Ganga River, covering four cities including Buxar, Patna, Munger, and Bhagalpur before departing for Jharkhand on January 2nd. Around 32 foreign tourists will be welcomed at Patna's Gaighat IWT terminal on the River Ganga with garlands and beats of band on January 17th and 18th during their 89 day stay. The tourists will visit various religious and historical places in Patna, Nalanda, and Bodh Gaya before setting out on the cruise from IWT terminal.

As Prime Minister Narendra Modi from New Delhi virtually flagged off the world’s longest river cruise MV Ganga Vilas that will sail from Varanasi to Dibrugarh via Dhaka on Friday, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma, while participating at the function here, said this would go a long way in realising Prime Minister Modi’s motto of “transformation of the northeast through transportation.”
