A woman went missing under mysterious circumstances along with her son in sector D of Aliganj on Friday. She was identified as Sonalika Chaurasia and her two and a half year old son as Parth.

The mayor of Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, and 13 other officials from the civic body visited the city of Bhubaneswar to learn about the process of handling municipal solid waste (MSW) through community participation. The bmc's solid waste processing and compost plants have attracted officials from several civic bodies to visit the city and learn about these practices. The Jagdalpur civic body is keen to set up an MRF where dry waste is segregated. The civic body has recently started the system of decentralised waste collection and processing, whereas the bmc has been doing it for past three years, earning accolades from several forums, including the National Institution for Transforming India (NITI Aayog). The team also visited a wealth centre, where both an MFR and a micro composting centre, MCC, are located, to see how wet waste is reduced to compost which is sold to fetch revenue.
