Mosques and other places of congregation also geared up for Bakrid namaz to be held on Thursday morning. However, traders in the city’s goat market were unhappy with less business this year.

In the run-up to Bakrid, sellers at the biggest cattle market in Raja Bazar have chalked out a plan to maintain social distancing and take safety precautions. Traders from different parts of Bihar and other states have been instructed to bring only 40% of sacrificial animals and a limited number of caretakers with them to the market that will open on Monday.

Police broke into the house of a Pakistcorrespondent, Khursheed Anwar Khan, late Thursday night without any warrants and searched his house, harassing the family, according to Dawn.
