Bajrang Punia won the Best Male Wrestler of the Year at the Times of India Sports awards (
TOISA
) for 2019 in the capital recently.
Elated after receiving the prestigious award, Bajrang said: “I want to thank Times of India for choosing me for this award. I want to thank my fans and my trainers also for this success.”
Bajrang has already booked a quota place in the 65kg category for the Tokyo Olympics 2020. He won a bronze medal at the 2019 World
Wrestling
Championships in
Nur Sultan

"It feels really great when we meet sportspersons from different fields. We all either meet at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games or Asian Games. I am really happy and thankful to Times of India for making this possible. All us sports persons have met under one roof," the star wrestler said.
Bajrang, who is considered a top medal contender for the Tokyo Games, won a silver medal at the Asian Wrestling Championships in New Delhi recently.
