Just hours after the ceasefire was declared, violations by Pakistanis were reported in Kashmir. On Sunday, less than 24 hours after the US-brokered deal, BJP leaders and select journalists began putting out identical tweets, saying ‘this pause is an understanding, not agreement’

After three nights of intense aerial warfare, India and Pakistan announced a sudden ceasefire on the evening of May 10. The ceasefire was confirmed after a hotline conversation between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of the two countries.

Pakistan's DGMO, Maj Gen Kashif Abdullah, initiated the call at 9 am, citing instructions from higher-ups in Pakistan and a conversation between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Pakistan army chief Gen Asim Munir.
