Hours after New Delhi and Islamabad reached an understanding to end their fighting, India on May 10 evening accused Pakistan of repeatedly violating the agreement and Indian armed forces responded adequately to attacks by Pakistani troops in various locations in Jammu and Kashmir.

The truce announcement came shortly after US President Donald Trump said the two nuclear-armed neighbours have agreed to a “full and immediate” ceasefire after talks mediated by Washington.
