It already has to a certain extent with news reports of Uddhav loyalists joining Shinde’s Sena trickling in from all parts of the state nearly every day. It appears now a second big split is imminent.

In recent speeches, Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde suggested that the Shiv Sena (UBT) will eventually be left with only two leaders – the father and the son (Uddhav Thackeray and Aaditya Thackeray).

While that is, in large part, political bluster, the signs are worrying for Thackeray and his Shiv Sena faction.
