While the ruling BJP may be hard-pressed to find a suitable replacement for Manipur CM N Biren Singh, the party top brass would do well to appoint a Naga leader to the CM post, a formula that may be acceptable to both Meiteis and Kukis

Nineteen months is a pretty long time for any communal or ethnic strife in a country. The continuing violence between Kukis and Meiteis is seen as a major failure of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) “double-engine government” in Manipur.

The question that’s probably on everyone’s mind is – what’s the Modi government doing to address this burning problem?
