As Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrives in Manipur today (September 13), a question that’s probably on everyone’s mind is whether this will pave the way for the long-awaited peace and stability in the troubled northeastern state.
This is the PM’s first visit to Manipur since ethnic conflict between Meiteis and Kukis broke out in May 2023. The unrest has claimed nearly 260 lives and displaced around 60,000 people so far.
