A Supreme Court bench has said that a woman’s choice needs to put first in all cases where she is seeking an abortion beyond the limit specified by law

When the 15-year-old’s mother discovered the young girl was pregnant, she was in her 27th week – three weeks over the limit specified by the Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act.

No doctor was willing to terminate the pregnancy. The girl’s mother approached the Delhi High Court seeking permission for an abortion.
