US President Donald Trump never tires of pointing out that Russia’s enormous land mass, from the Bering Strait in the east to the Baltic Sea in the west, comprises 11 time zones. Trump has always been impressed by land and power. Russia has both. It explains why he gets on with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
