After threatening to ‘destroy’ Iranian civilisation, US President Donald Trump declared a two-week ceasefire in the war against Iran just hours before the deadline that he’d set. Israel has said it will support the ceasefire.

The agreement, brokered by Pakistan, has been welcomed by leaders across the world and prompted hope that it could be a first step towards restoring some form of normalcy to the global economy.
