US exit polls are better, but you still can’t bet on them

It is election week in the US, with in-person voting for the presidential election on November 5. Four years ago, then incumbent Donald Trump declared himself the winner shortly after polls closed. It took days for the official results to be out, and Trump ultimately lost to President Joe Biden.
Trump never fully accepted the result, and weeks of claiming that the election was stolen from him culminated in his supporters charging at the US Capitol on Jan 6, 2021.
