Bangladesh has voted, a historic election with Tarique Rahman’s Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) winning two-thirds majority. What does it mean for Dhaka-Delhi relations is what everyone’s really waiting for. And it’s more than evident that a Bollywood-style “grand family reunion”, like in Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, is not the script that will play out. Post-July 2024 Bangladesh, the first election after the students’ uprising, comes with new transactional relations.
