A possible bird strike and an unusual landing-gear failure are the main points of focus as investigators prepare to analyse the flight recorders for clues on South Korea’s worst civil aviation accident that left 179 of the 181 people on board dead.
The Boeing 737-800 aircraft operated by Jeju Air crashed at Muan International Airport on Sunday (December 29) morning, skidding along the runway on its belly before smashing into a concrete wall, where it exploded into a ball of fire. Only two flight attendants survived.
