Why is Delhi’s oldest school for blind facing closure? Where will its 80 students go?

A 78-year-old Delhi school for the visually impaired faces closure, leaving its students from across states and the teachers in limbo

Founded in 1939 in Lahore, the Institution for the Blind is said to have moved to Delhi in 1948 after the Partition at the behest of Mahatma Gandhi.
But 78 years later, that history seems to count for nothing as an order from the Department of Education (DoE) asking the school to vacate the Panchkuian Road premises hangs like a dark cloud over the school.
