India has successfully test-fired the 5,000 km-range, nuclear-capable Agni-5 missile with an MIRV system, joining an elite group of nations including the US, Russia, and China

Exactly a year after Operation Sindoor, India has demonstrated its strategic strike capability by successfully test-firing the nuclear-capable Agni-5 ballistic missile with "multiple warheads". This indigenously developed missile with a range of 5,000 km can target not only all of Pakistan and China but also the rest of Asia and select regions in Europe.

The intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM), equipped with a Multiple Independently Targeted Re-Entry Vehicle (MIRV) system, was test-launched from Odisha’s APJ Abdul Kalam Island on May 9 under ‘Mission Divyastra’, according to the Defence Ministry.
