Investigators initially had little to go with after the murder of a Delhi University professor. On Sunday, they said a couple was arrested in West Bengal for the shocking crime.
Delhi University assistant professor Debosmita Paul was found murdered in her residence in the Vasundhara Enclave area on June 4. The 42-year-old last spoke with her mother, who lived nearby, just a day earlier. Her sister Devarati called the police on June 4 after she discovered Paul’s body in the apartment.
"Devarati had been trying to contact Debosmita throughout the day, but her calls went unanswered," a senior police officer said.
