And why did Trump just threaten BRICS nations that they "should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful US economy” unless they ensure this...

On November 30, US President-elect Donald Trump issued this threat on his social media TruthSocial: “The idea that the BRICS Countries are trying to move away from the Dollar, while we standby and watch is OVER. We require a commitment from these Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS currency, nor back any other currency to replace the mighty US Dollar or, they will face 100% tariffs, and should expect to say goodbye to selling into the wonderful US Economy.”

India is a founding member of BRICS, and now has nine member states – besides India, there is Brazil, Russia, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran & United Arab Emirates. Turkey, Azerbaijan and Malaysia have applied to become members and several other countries have expressed interest in joining the grouping which now accounts for 35% of the global economy based on purchasing power parity, overtaking the 30% of the G7 developed nations in recent months.
