Four-time
WWE Heavyweight champion,
Sheamus, is in India on a promotional trip for the sport. The champ, who is expected to visit Jaipur and Mumbai during his visit, was excited with the instant connect that he managed to build with fans. “I had heard some great things from The Great Khali and Jinder Mahal before I came to India, and from the time I landed, I could feel the passion that people here have for my sport.
Fans here are absolutely mind-blowing. It is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet such people and I am blessed,” says Sheamus, whose character in the televized sport has negative shades.
“One of the aspects of pro-wrestling is going out there and getting a reaction, and I always get a reaction. Whether I am in a negative character or a positive one, getting a response is crucial,” he says, and adds, “On day one itself my trip to India exceeded my expectations. Each time I interacted with a fan, they showed just how much pro-wrestling meant to them and that they are the reason we are able to perform and entertain,” he said.
Meanwhile, as far as his career inside the ring is concerned, Sheamus is set to reclaim the champion’s title before he comes back to India again.
“The next time I come here, I want to be here as the WWE champion. For now, I have to keep challenging myself and, hopefully, I will work on some interesting story lines,” he signed off.
