Ajinkya Rahane recalled to India’s Test side for WTC final vs Australia

The BCCI press release announcing the Indian Test team for the World Test Championship final against Australia at The Oval from June 7, landed at 10.30am on Tuesday morning. It was a marked change from previous teams announced, which were shared close to 11pm. Rahane had been left out of the list of centrally contracted players, only last month, which was a clear signal that he is not a long-term option as he had been producing good knocks only sporadically and his average had shown a consistent dip.
