How Hyderabad’s national parks are facing multiple threats, with green cover shrinking

With rapid concretisation, easy approvals for high-rise buildings, non-declaration of eco-sensitive zones, and encroachment by private individuals and firms, the three parks, namely KBR Park, Mrugavani and Mahavir Vanasthali, are under threat. Their area is shrinking, and habitats are disappearing. More wild animals are exposed to human interference. Most species are disappearing.
To counter the threats, environmentalists and civic society have raised their voices. Protests were held at these parks.
