Throwback Thursday: 10 Evergreen Serial Title tracks

Daily soaps has played a huge role in the popularity of TV viewing choices over the years. Back then, the title track of the serial was as important as the serial’s content.

Take a look at Telugu daily soaps that ruled the TV industry for its title tracks, which will leave you feeling nostalgic.

Nammakam

This popular title song of the superhit serial Nammakam featuring Radhika in the lead was sung by eminent playback singer SP Balasubramanyam. It has lyrics penned by Vennelakanti and tune composed by renowned musician Dina.

The title track is so popular with the audience that one cannot simply resist singing at least the first phrase of it. There were even references of the song made in many feature films that followed.

Antharangalu

Composed by Vasu Rao and sung by SP Balasubramanyam, will send you back to the 90s era.

Pinni

This is yet another serial that strikes a chord with all the 90s kids. Especially the call out “Pinni…” in the song is very popular amongst the Telugu and Tamil audience. Penned by lyricist Omkar, this popular title song was sung by eminent playback singers SP Balasubramanyam and Nithya Sri.

Anveshita

This serial was the first one-of-a-kind horror show on the small screen. The title song had a grungy feel to it and was composed by Madhavapeddi Suresh and sung by cine playback singer Chitra.

The horror theme of the song would give anyone a chill down their spine.

Endamavulu

In the first generation of soap operas, Endamavulu holds a special place.

The title track is popular as a melancholic single but it is indeed one of the seven songs in the album with the same title. Endamavule album was composed by Vasu Rao who has many popular serial tracks to his credit.

Lady Detective

“Lady Detective... Ammo Yama Active” is a chirpy title track sung by SP Balasubramanyam. Interestingly, veteran director Vamsi composed music for the title track besides directing the soap. The song which is also known for its tricky wordplay in the lyrics was penned by Guduru Viswanatha Sastry.

The tradition of title tracks for television serials was taken up by a notch in the 2000s.

Chakravakam was definitely one amongst the list to bring that change. The TV serial and its title song was extremely popular amongst the audiences. The chart buster was sung and composed by Bunti lyrics and was penned by B Madhu.

Mogalirekulu

The composer-lyricist duo recreated their magic with Mogalirekulu. They dished out yet another peppy title track ‘Virise Virise Mogalirekulu..’ for the popular daily soap Mogalirekulu. Composer Banti hogged limelight and went on to sign plum projects post the success of this serial.

Amrutham

This is unarguably one of the best comedy serials Telugu television has ever produced. The title track garnered a lot of attention.

The quirky song and unique title animation are indeed an asset. Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry’s thoughtful lyrics to Kalyani Malik’s tune are purely magical.

Ammamma dot com

Despite being a dark hose, this serial had a popular track to its credit.

Penned by legendary lyricist Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry and composed by renowned composer MM Keeravani, Ammamma dot com title song is indeed a classic.
