The Voice India: Reasons To Watch It

‘The Voice India’ is the Indian edition of the popular American reality television singing competition ‘The Voice’. The USP of this show is its 'blind auditions' wherein the contestants are chosen only on the basis of their singing talent rather than their looks. The Indian version of this show is being aired for the first time on Indian television. It has singer composers Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Mika Singh and Himesh Reshammiya as the 'coaches'. They would build their own team and mentor talents on the show.

Singer and mentor Sunidhi Chauhan is seen in an all new size-zero avatar in this show. The singer, who has undergone a makeover for the show, is said to be very particular about her looks and on the sets she ensures that her make-up kit is kept next to her. According to sources, she prefers to do the base makeup herself. What’s more, she is also seen luring female contestants with all sorts of cosmetics from her own kit. Well, which woman wouldn’t like that?

The selection process for the show would begin with the blind auditions, wherein the mentors’ chairs would automatically turn away from the stage so that when a participant enters all they hear is the singer’s voice. If the mentor is impressed they can select the participant in their team by hitting the ‘I Want You’ button! This would be followed by the singers being coached by their mentors for the Battles and the Live Performance.
