The Kardashians and Jenners: All you needed to know about them

They are all over the news for different reasons. From break-ups to love stories, patch-ups to divorces, career to business - the Kardashian family and the Jenner sisters have rocked the world of reality television. From being some of the most-searched celebs to being a tightly-knit family, they sure know how to make headlines. Kim, Kourtney, Khloe, Kendall and Kylie are the famous siblings who steal the show at every event and managing them all is their mother, Kris. Here's a look at who they really are and what made them famous.

Kim Kardashian West is the most famous of the Kardashian sisters. She is an American television personality, a socialite, a model, entrepreneur, fashion designer and author. Kim came into the limelight for her alleged sex tape leak in 2003 with her then boy friend, Ray J. Though Kim was noticed for her friendship with socialite Paris Hilton, it was this scandal that got her the attention. In 2007, she starred in the reality TV series Keeping Up With The Kardashians. She made her film debut with the spoof, Disaster Movie. In 2011, she was briefly married to NBA player Kris Humphries, but filed for divorce within 72 days of marriage. She began dating American rapper, Kanye West in 2012, with whom she was friends for years. The couple announced that Kim was pregnant and gave birth to daughter, North West in 2013. The couple finally tied the knot in 2014 and are one of the most talked-about people in the world. Kimye (as they are dubbed by fans and the media) and North West featured on the cover of US Vogue which drew a lot of flak. Kim is also reportedly worth US$45 million, as per a report on Finance.yahoo.com.

Khloe Kardashian is an American television personality, known popularly for starring in her family reality series, Keeping Up With The Kardashians and the spin-offs, including Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami and Khloe & Lamar. Along with Kim and Kourtney, she is involved in the retail business that the sisters had started. She is said to have dropped out of school and started home school, graduating at the age of 17. Her father, Robert Kardashian, was of Armenian descent. Kourtney married basketball player, Lamar Odom, in September 2009, within just one month of dating him. While she officially adopted his last name Odom, the duo filed for divorce in 2013. She is reportedly dating rapper, French Montana.

Kourtney is the eldest of the four Kardashian siblings. Kourtney is known for starring in the family reality series, Keeping Up With The Kardashians. She has also appeared in the spin-offs, Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami and Kourtney and Kim Take New York. Along with her sisters, Kourtney is also involved in the retail business. She's also made a TV appearance on BC soap, One Life To Live in 2011. She's been with Scott Disick since 2006, her partner of nine years. The couple also have three children together.

The only brother among three sisters, Robert Kardashian was conspicuous by his absence at sister Kim's highly publicised wedding to rapper, Kanye West. While his weight problem was cited as the alleged reason, the Kardashian brother is not as famous as his sisters. Apart from being a part of the reality series, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, he has also participated in the season 13 of Dancing With The Stars and he was one of the final judges of Miss USA, 2012. He reportedly dated actress Adrienne Bailon from 2007 until 2009. The Kardashian kid also took to his Twitter account to announce that he was dating Rita Ora.

Kylie Kristen Jenner is the younger daughter of Bruce and Kris Jenner and the half sister of the Kardashian girls. A popular model, Kylie started her modelling career with the Sears line, Crush Your Style, modelled for Canadian singer Avril Lavigne's clothing line Abbey Dawn during the 2011 New York Fashion Week. She is also known for appearing on the E! reality TV show, Keeping Up with The Kardashians. Along with older sister Kendall, she co-hosted Glee: The 3D Concert Movie and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 in Los Angeles. She is said to date rapper, Tyga and reportedly, her father Bruce is not happy about this.

Kendall is the older of the Jenner sisters and is a popular model, perhaps more successful than Kylie. Apart from appearing on the reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians, she began her modelling career at the tender age of 14. She has walked the ramp for top designers including Donna Karan, Diane Von Furstenberg, Tommy Hilfiger, Fendi, Ports 1961, Bottega Veneta, Pucci, and Dolce & Gabbana. To her credit, she was reportedly the most Googled model of 2014, second only to Kate Upton. As for her personal life, she is said to be dating Dallas Mavericks forward, Chandler Parsons, according to a report on Dailymail.co.uk. There were also rumours that she was dating Chris Brown after his split with Karrueche Tran.

Kris Jenner is multi-talented. This mother of six is a television personality, producer and manager who has appeared on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, Kourtney and Khloé Take Miami, Khloé & Lamar, Kourtney and Kim Take New York, Kourtney and Khloé Take The Hamptons, Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, Good Morning America, The Talk, America's Next Top Model and her own talk show, Kris. Born Kristen Mary Houghton, she was married to Robert Kardashian, a lawyer of Armenian descent. Kris herself is of Scottish, Dutch and English ancestry and had four children with Robert: Kim, Khloe, Kourtney and Rob. She later divorced him and married Olympian, Bruce Jenner with whom she has two daughters: Kylie and Kendall. The two are now divorced.
