Want to work at Facebook, WhatsApp or Instagram, Meta CTO has this ready-to-go guide
Meta’s chief technology officer Andrew Bosworth, popularly known as Boz, recently took to Instagram for an AMA session. According to a report by Business Insider, when asked what type of person thrives at Meta — the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp. Replying to the query Bosworth offered a candid breakdown of the traits he values most in employees. Bosworth emphasised that the successful Meta employees are “relentless in pursuit of doing great work.” He described that the workers at Meta take pride in their contributions and treat their projects with a sense of personal ownership. As per him, this drive is what sets apart those who excel in the company’s fast-paced environment.
After listing technical and behavioral qualities, Bosworth concluded with something simple yet profound: “Just a good person.” For him, character matters as much as skill, and being trustworthy and ethical is non-negotiable.

Communication and conflict resolution
Two of Bosworth’s tips are centred around communication. He said good employees are direct and appreciate directness in return, turning feedback into progress rather than conflict. Andrew Bosworth also highlighted adaptability as a crucial trait. “When plans change, their first reaction isn’t a knee-jerk fear of change, but rather a tremendous curiosity and enthusiasm about what that might mean for them,” he noted.
