Reliance Jio confirms outage, here’s what the company said

Reliance Jio has confirmed that its network experienced a widespread outage today (September 17). The company apologised for the inconvenience caused to its customers. The company also said that the issue has now been resolved and the Jio services have been completely restored.

What the company said
“This morning, some Jio customers in Mumbai faced problems in availing seamless services on account of minor technical issues. The same have been resolved, and seamless services of Jio have been fully restored. We regret the inconvenience to our subscribers,” said a Reliance Jio spokesperson.

Reliance Jio customers across India faced significant connectivity issues on Tuesday, September 17, 2024. Users reported disruptions in mobile internet access and frequent call drops. According to the outage tracking website Downdetector, there was a noticeable spike in reports of disruptions in both mobile and fiber internet services provided by Reliance Jio.

As per Reuters, a fire at a Reliance Jio data center was the cause of the nationwide network outage. The fire has reportedly been contained. "The fire has been contained, and the servers are expected to resume operations shortly," a source told Reuters.
