Oppo has expanded its partnership with
Google to enhance mobile AI capabilities with a focus on personalisation, deployment, and data privacy. The new AI features will debut on the upcoming Oppo Find X9 Series and ColorOS 16 on Oppo flagship devices.
In a statement, Oppo said that the goal of the partnership is to improve how users interact with AI while ensuring their data remains private. “Working closely with partners like Google allows us to integrate next-generation AI experiences that are powerful and secure,” said Kai Tang, President of Software Engineering at Oppo.
As part of the partnership, Oppo will introduce AI Mind Space, an application designed to help users collect and organise content such as text, images, and web pages. Users can save content using a three-finger swipe, and the app automatically categorises it for easy access.
AI Mind Space will be linked with Google’s Gemini, allowing users to use the saved content for tasks such as planning trips or drafting documents. Users can control which data Gemini can access within the app.
The Find X9 Series will also allow users to interact directly with Gemini, share their screen or camera for assistance, and use Nano Banana, Gemini’s image editing model, for creative photo edits.
With Gemini Live, users can get on-screen visual guidance for everyday tasks or troubleshooting.
Both companies said the collaboration is built on a privacy-focused foundation. The system uses the Oppo AI Private Computing Cloud (PCC) with Google Cloud’s confidential computing services to process sensitive data in a secure, encrypted environment. Oppo said it does not have access to users’ private data.
AI features such as AI Mind Space, AI Search, AI Call Summary, AI VoiceScribe, AI Recorder, and AI Writer will operate within this secure framework.
Buyers of the Find X9 and Find X9 Pro will receive a three-month subscription to Google AI Pro, which offers access to advanced Gemini features and 2TB of cloud storage.
